IESF 2009

In 2009, the Inland Empire Scholarship Fund gave over 100 scholarships to deserving Latino scholars.
More than $150,000 was donated by our generous sponsors this year to help young Latino scholars realize their goals through higher education.

The IESF 11th Annual Fund-Raiser and Student Recognition Dinner was held on Saturday, April 25, 2009 to a full house - more than 650 guests - the largest number of guests in the 11-year history. The event was held in the new gymnasium at UCR, and the atmosphere was stunning, and the mood festive. The Master of Ceremony was James E. Blancarte, who is a Los Angeles attorney with extensive community involvement.

Dr. Timothy White, Chancellor of UCR, and Rev. Bishop Gerald Barnes were among those who addressed the attendees. Awardees Hector Gonzalez and Ruth Alcala also shared their experiences.
